Last month in Brussels gave us our first look at the all-new Apple Store design after Jony Ive and his team went to work, and today we can see what looks very much like a carbon copy of that look in the new Dubai store set to open on Thursday. We see the same indoor trees and huge screen as seen in Brussels, but on a much larger scale. Gulf News, which took the photos below, says that the store is still being reported to be the world’s largest Apple Store, overtaking London’s Covent Garden, though it notes that “at first appearance” it looks smaller than expected … The store, located in the Mall of the Emirates, will be the first Apple Store to open in the United Arab Emirates when it opens at 4pm on the 29th, but UAE residents won’t have long to wait for the second: the Abu Dhabi store opens just three hours later at 7pm the same day....

Vampire: The Masquerade could be getting a new game, if all the teasing from developer Paradox Interactive is to be believed. The studio was hard at work turning the rumor mill over the course of the weekend, tweeting a series of images that strongly suggest a new Vampire: The Masquerade game is coming soon. The last iteration of the tabletop franchise to grace the video game industry was Vampire: The Masquerade—Bloodlines, which released way back in 2004....

The movie Steve Jobs last night won two of the four Golden Globes awards for which it was nominated. Aaron Sorkin picked up the award for Best Screenplay, and Kate Winslet won Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role. However, Michael Fassbender lost out to Leonardo DiCaprio in Best Performance by an Actor. Daniel Pemberton, who wrote the score for the movie, was also beaten by Ennio Morricone for The Hateful Eight....

As all eyes are on Apple and its upcoming quarterly earnings that will tell us how many iPads they shipped in the March quarter, ABI Research is out with a new survey focused on the tablet space. The market research company said full-year figures show that Apple owned 85 percent of the tablet market in the entire 2010. Kinda contradicts the above slide claiming “>90% market share” that Jobs put up during the March 2011 iPad 2 introduction....

Acast is the latest iPhone app to offer support for Apple’s CarPlay feature through today’s update. Acast is a dedicated podcast network that streams on-demand audio and podcasts including over 1400 shows to more than 56 million listeners. Acast for CarPlay focuses on four main sections for easy navigation and control while driving: Categories: Quickly select news, sports, business etc. and receive suggestions based on what is popular on Acast. As noted by Mac4Ever, Adobe has recently updated its end-user license agreement for Adobe Director 12 and requested that developers publishing paid iOS apps provide Adobe with 10 percent of earnings above $20,000. The recently released Adobe Director 12 introduced the ability to publish games directly to iOS, but developers in Adobe’s forums are not too pleased with the company’s decision to take 10 percent of earnings from iOS apps published to the App Store....

After first launching back in 1997, today word arrives that AOL Instant Messenger will officially shut down in December after a 20-year run: The news comes straight from AIM parent company Oath, a spin-off created following the Verizon and AOL merger. The company’s VP of Communications Product Michael Albers made the announcement in a blog post, but didn’t confirm whether or not there were plans to maybe keep the AIM brand around or relaunch the product down the road....

As announced, Disney has today released all six Star Wars movies as digital downloads on iTunes. The collection is priced at $89 as a bundle. Each movie can be downloaded separately for $20 a piece. Simon Cowell’s company has spoken out after Gabrielle Union’s unexpected firing from America’s Got Talent. The former host had a litany of complaints that weren’t initially reported when news of her termination was first announced. Union lost her job on America’s Got Talent after one season due to what’s been described as a toxic work environment. Details of what Union allegedly endured have finally surfaced. She took issue with Cowell’s indoor cigarette smoking in her presence (problematic because she’s allergic and it’s illegal), repeated and culturally insensitive notes about her afrocentric hairstyles, and also the inappropriate comment Jay Leno supposedly made about the Asian community....

American Gods actor Ricky Whittle and production company Fremantle respond to allegations involving the firing of actor Orlando Jones from season 3 of the series. Over the weekend, Jones revealed he’d been fired from American Gods season 3 on social media and included accusations that the firing was the result of his character, Anansi, sending the wrong message to blacks. In American Gods, Anansi is an African god who occasionally gives in to passionate and angry monologues about the black experience....

Apple’s stock is currently trading for around $141 with Credit Suisse previously projecting a target price of $160. Now the firm is increasing its target price for AAPL up to $170 according to MarketWatch. The report adds that Credit Suisse is one of the most positive on AAPL performance with an analyst at the firm assigning an outperform rating for the company. Credit Suisse’s target price is notably higher than the industry average which the report says is around $150....
