Google finally revealed the next version of Android OS called Android 9.0 Pie. The update is been rolling out to Pixel phones now. The currently supported devices are Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. Google announced the Android Pie beta preview earlier this year and includes lots of new features. Google also say’svivo X20 Plus that the devices that were a part of the Android P developer preview program with brands such as Sony, Xiaomi, Oppo, OnePlus, Essential, and more along with some Android One phones, will get the Android 9.0 Pie in the fall.

Here is the list of supported Android 9.0 Pie beta currently: Sony Xperia XZ2, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, Nokia 7 Plus, Oppo R15 Pro, Vivo X21, OnePlus 6, and Essential PH‑1. - Shortcut in the form of a gear button in PIP(Picture in picture) Mode screen that opens up the device Settings. This will help enable/disable the PIP effect on a particular App.

- Battery percentage now showing on the lock screen Ambient display.
- A new quick settings panel with rounded icons.
- Pixel launcher dock is now a bit transparent with rounded corners.
- The microphone is now added to the dock search bar that opens up the Google Assistant.
- Volume slider now appears at the right of the screen close to the volume rockers.
- Screenshot button is added. Press the power button and along with Power related options, it will show the screenshot feature.
- Multi-camera API to create a fused camera stream to automatically switch between two or more lenses. This allows for zoom, bokeh, etc features.
- HDR VP9 video and HEIF image compression support.
- Smart replies in the message. It is the same as in Google assistant you get to select a few actions suggested by the Assistant
- Now runs Neural Network API 1.1
- improved Autofill Framework with dataset filtering, input sanitization. Input sanitization helps in adding a credit/debit card number properly by adding space after four characters.
- Autofill also brings password managers to use the accessibility-based approach in apps that don’t have full Autofill support.
- Fingerprint security experience will now be more consistent
- Refinements to Doze, App Standby, and Background Limits that aims to improve battery life.
