The iPhone 12 models will all feature a new design with flat edges according to several reports and rumors, but we haven’t seen yet a genuine leaked component of this year’s iPhones. However, a video shared today on Twitter by YouTuber Filip Koroy, known as EverythingApplePro, shows an alleged rear shell of the new 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro. The rear shell doesn’t reveal many new details since it doesn’t have any hardware components attached, but if real, it gives us a better idea of what the new iPhones will look like....

A HarrisX poll into reactions to this year’s iPhones found that almost half of Americans were impressed by the new iPhone lineup. Some 26% described it as ‘exciting’ while a further 22% found it ‘innovative.’ It wasn’t all good news for Apple, however … A quarter of Americans had negative reactions to the launch. The poll reveals that 9% found it boring, a further 9% underwhelming, 5% confusing and 2% disappointing....

One comic sequence that was altered considerably for TV was Hughie’s first kill. In both versions of The Boys, the first time Hughie kills a superhero is a landmark event. The (literal) blood on his hands forces Hughie to question whether following Butcher on this new adventure is really a wise decision, and whether he’s even suited for the challenges ahead. Following several reports this month and hints from Tim Cook that Retina iPad mini stock could be in short supply when the device launches next month, the hit and miss DigiTimes reports today that the shortages are due to limited supply of displays from Apple’s supplier Sharp. Specifically, the report claims that Sharp’s “Oxide TFT process is seeing low yield rates” leading to a less than ideal supply of 7.9-inch Retina panels....

Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe are set to return for A Quiet Place 2 along with Emily Blunt. Paramount found a surprise hit last year with the release of the John Krasinski directed and led A Quiet Place. The semi-post-apocalyptic film took away sound to amplify the horror and thrills that silence can generate, especially when any sound immediately gets the attention of deadly monsters. The movie grossed over $340 million worldwide on a $17 million budget and the movie rode the financial and critical success all year to remain part of the awards conversation....

Here’s how Apple’s Q3 results stack up against the analyst expectations compiled by Fortune. Revenue grew 6 percent, but Wall Street was expecting more. Earnings per share was marginally higher than expected, at $1.28 per diluted share. Gross margin was higher than expected at 39.4 percent. iPhone sales were slightly lower than expected, while iPad sales were significantly below analyst predictions. Mac and iPod sales, in contrast, were higher. Overall, market reaction was muted, with a slight drop in the share price in post-market trading – but with overall results broadly in line with expectations, all eyes now will be on Q4....

Aaron Sorkin, the screenwriter behind the Sony-backed biopic based on Walter Isaacson’s Steve Jobs biography, just sat down with Walt Mossberg at the D10 Conference to discuss everything from the late CEO and upcoming blockbuster to writing techniques and…The Beatles. Sorkin is a Hollywood mogul thanks to his numerous successes, including “The Social Network,” “Moneyball,” and “The West Wing,” but the Big Shot warned that his silver-screen version of the best-selling biography is still in its early stages....
